Dr. Roy Joseph T. Trinidad

Dr. Roy Joseph T. Trinidad is a general and trauma surgeon who is currently the Head of the Trauma Care Center of the Western Visayas Medical Center (WVMC), a level III teaching and training hospital catering to patients across Panay Island. In this role, Dr. Trinidad overseas critical care trauma services, contributing significantly to the hospital’s mission of providing comprehensive and compassionate health care.

As a trauma surgeon, Dr. Trinidad is deeply involved in prehospital care as well as combat and wilderness medicine knowing that the clock of survival start ticking the moment the victim sustains the injury. He trained under the world famous Dr Ted Esguerra and is now an instructor of the Wilderness Search and Rescue Philippines, the organization founded by Dr. Esguerra. He is also an instructor in Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Tactical Emergency Casualty Care. Being a trauma surgeon, he has on several instances, modified life saving procedures done in a hospital setting to make it applicable in a wilderness or combat environment.

Dr. Trinidad is also a reservist in the Philippine Navy with a rank of Chief Petty Officer and is a Chief Hospital Corpsman. He was deployed as a member of the Philippine contingent to Myanmar where, as part of the USAR team, they conducted search and rescue and retrieval operations.

Being passionate about his craft, Dr. Trinidad believes that to perform at the highest level, one must keep himself physically ready and prepared to deploy or respond at a moment’s notice. He lives by his credo: God. Flag. Others. Self. In that order.​
