Rob is a Critical Care Flight Paramedic and Rescuer, involved in Medical Rescue for the past 31 years. Born in Durban, South Africa, his career started in the early 90’s when Paramedicine was first evolving into a profession.  South Africa’s busy and demanding case load honed Rob’s clinical skills, making him an expert in both clinical care and rescue.

Rob relocated to New Zealand in 2008, where he worked on road ambulances and helicopters for St John Ambulance. For the past 6 years, Rob has worked on an EMS and Rescue helicopter, responding to emergencies in the central North Island of New Zealand. Through the years, Rob has been involved in many aspects of Emergency Medicine and Rescue, including Advanced Paramedicine, Hyperbaric Medicine, Offshore and Remote Medicine, Helicopter Rescue and Vehicle Extrication, to name a few.

Away from work, Rob spends time with his partner, Sandra. They have 4 children. He enjoys tramping, mountain biking and fishing in his spare time.

Rob is honored to be able to share his wealth of experience and knowledge with you, with a view to empowering a future generation of rescuers.
